Alimentation Couche-Tard, a leading convenience store operator, has recently announced its plans to open 60 new stores in Wisconsin. This announcement was made at the grand opening of their third new-build store in the state.
Focus on New Construction and Circle K Fuel Brand
The expansion of the company's store network is part of Couche-Tard's strategic focus on new construction and the promotion of its Circle K Fuel brand. These plans were initially outlined in an investor presentation conducted late last year. In a news release, the company revealed its intention to build a total of 500 stores within a five-year timeframe, with most of them being located in North America.
The newly opened store in Green Bay spans an impressive 5,200 square feet. It boasts 16 dispensers offering Circle K Fuel, along with a convenient car wash facility that is part of Circle K's Unlimited Car Wash Club. Furthermore, customers can enjoy Circle K's proprietary food service program, Fresh Food Fast, which offers a diverse range of prepared hot food options.
Positive Community Response
Gary Brant, Vice President of Operations at Circle K Northern Tier Business Unit, expressed his satisfaction with the community response to the company's first two stores in Ledgeview and Ashwaubenon, which opened last year. This positive feedback further reinforces their commitment to expanding in the area.
Growing Presence in the Green Bay-Appleton Area
According to a spokesman for Circle K, the newly opened store is the third addition to the company's presence in the Green Bay-Appleton area. While Couche-Tard currently operates 30 stores in Wisconsin, three of which are Circle K branded, the remaining locations are branded as Holiday. Additionally, some Wisconsin sites are operated by franchisees under the Holiday brand.
Future Expansion Plans
The spokesman emphasized that Couche-Tard aims to expand both its company-operated and franchisee-operated stores in Wisconsin. With a strong focus on growth and an established reputation for quality and convenience, Alimentation Couche-Tard is set to further solidify its position in the Wisconsin market.
Circle K Expands with New Stores in Wisconsin
Circle K, the popular convenience store chain, has recently opened three new stores in Wisconsin. These new locations, situated in Green Bay, Ledgeview, and Ashwaubenon, offer customers the added convenience of car wash services.
The expansion of car wash facilities is part of Circle K's overall growth strategy, with each site being carefully evaluated for suitability. In fact, the company's parent company, Couche-Tard, has identified numerous locations for further development and continues to actively scout for new sites throughout the state.
Last year, Couche-Tard revealed its ambitious plan to build 500 stores within five years, and it has already identified 1,000 potential sites for future growth. A significant portion of this expansion will involve new construction projects. The company has already completed 40 new stores in the first half of the fiscal year, with over 100 sites currently in various stages of construction. Couche-Tard aims to allocate 75% of its spending towards new builds and the remaining 25% towards raze-and-rebuilds or relocations.
In terms of market share among in-store brands for fleet sales in Wisconsin, Holiday holds the seventh position with a 3.31% share. It is worth noting that Holiday sells gasoline at a slightly higher price compared to the market average, according to OPIS MarketSharePro data. The leading six brands in Wisconsin, by store brand market share, are Kwik Trip (45.28%), BP (11.10%), Mobil (8.85%), Shell (7.22%), Speedway (4.02%), and Citgo (3.64%), as reported by OPIS.
